Everybody Is Replaceable

This post has been seen 11295 times.

I don’t care who you are, where you are or what you are in charge of.

If you leave your job either voluntarily or because your boss slapped you upside the head and then ninja kicked you in the stomach or because maybe you died from heart attacks from stress as a result of working long weekend hours … guess what?

You will be replaced.

Your replacement might not be perfect, your replacement might even turn your fortune 500 company into a bumbling piece of crap, they may be flawed…very flawed. But at the end of the day when all is said and done, you will be replaced.

No statue will be built in your name, no conference rooms or parking spots will be named after you, and depending on whether your burial is on a Friday or Saturday your co-workers might not be able to show up because they are too busy killing themselves at work. The irony…

Dedicated to the Sly One…RIP

  1. True talk. This reminds me of a comprehension in our English textbook back in secondary school. I think the title was the indispensable. It was about a doctor who spent almost all 24 hours of a day working without making out time for his family & when reprimanded by the wife, he said he was indispensable. The man finally died and behold! The hospital continued like he was never there.
Since then I learnt that everyone can be replaced. It hurts more when your replacement is even better & no matter how much work you put in, the difference u made, once you leave, the void will always be filled.
Even if the replacement is an Idiot, you have still been replaced. End of story

Let me hear an Amen… Preach, what you wrote is so true if a whole president does not want to leave power but after 2 terms he is replaced who are we? It feels like I just spoke french. It is only God that cannot be replaced so my advice and practice is to be alive as I live, love my life and be inspired to do better, be grateful to God and family, you gerrit? With all the change taking place it will be delusional to think anyone is irreplaceable. Love your work.
