Growing up, Ofili was a slow learner and struggled with a speech impediment problem. As a result, he was written off by many friends and branded as a failure by numerous instructors. But Ofili’s resilience and belief in himself pushed him past the boundaries of failures into the realms of success. His incredible journey culminated in 2004 when he graduated Summa cum Laude from the University of Houston with a B.Sc Mechanical Engineering. That same year, he was also recognized as the University of Houston’s Homecoming king, an award given for academic excellence, outstanding leadership and exemplary service to the community; the college’s highest award. Ofili currently works as an engineer at FMC Technologies in Houston, Texas, where he oversees the design of multi-million dollar subsea equipment. Ofili’s incredible journey is a continuous reminder of what you can achieve when you realize that your greatest moment is now!
