Stories From My Dad ‪#‎ofilispeaks‬

So today I went to visit my Parents and my Dad had just come back from his YMCA church monthly meeting. Which they hold every 2nd Sunday of the month.

Their tradition at their monthly meeting is that refreshments will be provided by those who celebrate their birthdays in that month. Meaning that for this month of May, all those whose birthdays occurred in May would bring drinks and chops. QED.

Historically people would bring stuff like wine, rice, solid small chops and all, just to make a statement. But today, my Dad was like nobody brought anything, not even “pure water satchet.”

And “coincidentally” abi “mysteriously” nobody that was born in May showed up to the meeting. For the first time ever, in their YMCA group history they had no refreshments.

They ended up having to send someone to go and buy gala.

“Gala” my Dad said laughing out loud raising his arms in the air.

“You know things are really bad economically, when we have to eat Gala at our post church meeting.”
