Books Change The World Especially Check Books

This post has been seen 7726 times.

checksThey told us books can change the world. So we dug our heads inside the religious scriptures looking for a way to change the world, searched the pages of science and political text books looking for the wisdom to change the world. But what they should have told us was that those books may change the world, but the book…the book that really changes the world … is a checkbook.

Time and time again the checkbook has proven to be the decider.

Have a brilliant idea that can save the world? You likely need a checkbook to fund it. Have a church that could save the world? You definitely need a congregation to write those checks. In fact those are the only books where the autographs really matter.

So don’t listen to people when they tell you to HATE money and to just do what you LOVE and the money will come.
No don’t listen to them, the ones that told you money was evil and that evil can’t change the world … that what changes the world instead is a kind heart and strong vision. Bullshit!

What changes the world 97.897644% of the time (no research done) is money. The people who have the money have the greatest opportunity and chance to change the world. Never forget that!

So in your quest to do good, to organize rallies, to change and influence political decisions … don’t forget to focus on getting your money. Because while you are reading books that can change the world, others are writing and autographing checkbooks that will.

mehn i cant stop laughing…its like you were angry writing this article. So true as always. Its not enough to read and gain knowledge, making money out of it is so much more important! Weldone ofili.

Well written, unfortunately I don’t agree with you. Everyday you write, and everyday you get readers, mostly from different part of the world, I don’t see how your money is changing the world. But everytime you write mind sets are changed, strongholds are broken. Money isn’t everything, ofcus important, money doesn’t change the world neither checkbooks. So what changes the world. People, people with gifts like yours, people with purpose. Was really surprised seeing you write that. But I see what you mean, but I don’t agree with you. And I didn’t learn that from religious books or science or political stuff.

What it represents is as important as what it is, a tool for the heart, and as long as you can touch the heart of one person that’s LIMITLESS. Money should have saved the country from what it is if it so changes the world. This has nothing to do with me thinking of writing, infact I hate to, its so difficult to, but I still stand by my word, ideas, people with gifts, they are the ones who truly live and cause change.

    • Like I always say we are free to disagree. My experience in this world is that people with money change the world, this does not mean that good people can’t or won’t change the world, it is just much harder. So while you are being good and pursuing good courses, make sure you get your money so that you amplify your goodness and make good change in the world.

True words: “The people who have the money have the greatest opportunity and chance to change the world. Never forget that!”

Bill Gates has more power to change the world than all my desire can do right now. Money in the hands of good people will change the world. Without money, that dream stays a dream.

So even though wisdom is better than strength, those who are wise will be despised if they are poor. What they say will not be appreciated for long. (From the Bible)

Let me take you up a little on this, using the Okadabooks App as a case study. Ofilispeaks has the dream of getting books, at minimal costs, to as many people as would read them. Mobile devices, which abound in Nigeria, serve as the platform for driving the reading culture. Was the Okadabooks App developed for free? I don’t think so. Let’s assume for purposes of arguments that Ofili leveled on goodwill and got the app built free, did all the authors magnanimously release the rights to their books? Oh they were so kind they gave up the rights to their books and are getting no royalties, is the marketing of the App free? Are people going to suddenly become aware of the existence of the App?

Backtracking a little bit, whoever developed the App got some money from someone to learn programming and all that geeky stuff and based on that cheque, built an app that will change the world. Therefore, he who writes the cheque changes the world. QED

  3. No one could ever have or can ever say it better than you just did. So true my friend. Okechukwu Ofilli. The epitome of common sense. Keep it up dude..

  4. So many things require a check book……to run an election, to develop the next alternative energy, to put out a new music album, to publish a book, I can go on and on. But I think the surest option is to be know how convince people with money that your ideas are worth being invested in. Study the “conviction book” & change the world

      (15) The rich man’s wealth is his strong city—i.e., an actual protection to him against his enemies, for by it he can get aid; or (as Proverbs 18:11) it gives him the consciousness of power, courage: whereas poverty drags a man down, and prevents his advance in life, or makes him timid, and unable to defend himself.

It’s a good thing u stated clearly dat pple are free to disagree cos this is what i think… neither books nor checkbooks will change d world. Me for one, i hate all those crappy inspirational books, with logical theories and formulas for living or making money..all rubbish! including urs Ofili. I judt dunt believe in them. I hate checkbooks too, cos I have seen how money is NEVER enough, not for anybody, not for Gates, not for Dangote. It does solve a lot of problems, thats why it is a mystery. I have seen how money makes u a slave of it and a slave that can never be set free. I have had both nothing and everything. I think we should be content in all, not controlled by our ambition or desires. People write as it affects them; trust me, i rather read fiction, I rather be comfortable, I rather die happy. Cos life, my friend u see, is not something we can all logically understand or draw up perfect theories of. therefore, dunt take advices, dunt swallow theories, have urs.
The world will go on, twirling around the sun, weda u change it or not, weda ur rich or poor, checkbooks or textbooks, great men or nobodies, pope or beggar….

  8. The bible says Money is the answer for everything (Ecc 10:19). All the good intentions and bright ideas in the world won’t mean jack if they’re no resources to fuel them and by resources I mean money

Another scripture says, Money is the root of all evil. Another scripture to back it up. Don’t mind me am just messing with you Mr Ofili. Have a great day… Waiting for what’s new today Boss.
