Be Alone

This post has been seen 1842 times.

Be alone. Eat alone, take yourself on dates, sleep alone.

In the midst of this you will learn about yourself. You will grow, you will figure out what inspires you, you will curate your own dreams, your own beliefs, your own stunning clarity, and when you do meet the person who makes your cells dance, you will be sure of it, because you are sure of yourself.

Wait for it. Please, I urge you to wait for it, to fight for it, to make an effort for it if you have already found it, because it is the most beautiful thing your heart will experience.

  1. In this 21st century world, we have mastered the art of “running away from ourselves”. There’s such a longing to define one’s self through the lens of another. I guess in a way, its frees us from the responsibility that is solely our’s to bear…but it kills our individuality- slowly but surely. Being alone does not mean that one is lonely. I have learned to have conversations with myself…to laugh at me, to cry with me, to tease myself…to be most comfortable with the woman I am, in every sense. These precious moments of solitude give me a clarity of mind, being and purpose, that I would most probably not get with anyone else. Being alone “fills” you up. And then when you come “together”, you have so much to give.
